The hull of the spacecraft is a cermet composite impregnated with graphite, titanium, aluminum trihydrate and molybdenum.
Main prolusion is provided by pellet stream propulsion, where a stream of ordinary matter pellets from a stationary mass-driver are "reflected" by the spacecraft, thus moving it forward. The spacecraft neither needs energy nor reaction mass for propulsion of its own.[1]
The ship is launched by an electromagnetic accelerator and is controlled through the use of bioelectric conducting gel as the interface between crew and ship's operating systems.
The ship is equipped with an escape pod for the crew.[2]
Chig War[]
After an attack upon USS SARATOGA, a Chig bomber was captured and studied by AeroTech and United States Navy Intelligence Officers.
Instead of deconstructing the spacecraft to learn as much as possible about the Chig technology, as proposed by Howard Sewell, LTC McQueen convinced Commodore Ross to use the vessel in a Trojan Horse[3] operation against the Chigs. Members of the 58th Squadron flew the bomber in an attack against the Chig homeworld.
