A planet named for the the Keres, singular Ker (or Cer), who in Greek mythology were female death-spirits. They were the goddesses who personified violent death and who were drawn to bloody deaths on battle fields.[1]

The planet Cer has a suitable atmosphere for human beings. It is covered in highly ionized clouds causing almost constant lightning storms.
The Chig War[]
An extensive ground battle was fought on Cer between Earth Forces and the Chigs. The Chigs monitored Earth communications for calls for military support on the planet and then attacked the outposts, booby trapping the bodies of Earth Forces soldiers with explosives in order to kill those that came to rescue and treat the wounded.[2]
