CPO Keats is a character appearing in Season 1 of Space: Above and Beyond and the various tie-in books.
He is portrayed by actor Tom Everett.
Biography[]
Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Keats is an In Vitro, gestated in the Brooklyn Facility. He is the senior non-commissioned officer aboard the SCV MacArthur, Military Spacelift Command cargo vessel.[1]
In late July 2063 the MACARTHUR survived an attack by Chig forces while transiting from Groombridge 34. A Chig Destroyer attacked the ship in Blood Alley and was subsequently destroyed after a prolonged "cat and mouse" engagement.[2]
CPO Keats instigated a mutiny aboard the ship when he refused an order from Captain Lewelyn to cut power to a cargo bay that held In Vitros in stasis, which would provide the power needed to evade the Chigs. After the event Keats was arrested and went to trial for mutiny.
